On May 14, 2026, 70-year-old Professor Hikmet Alizade, after feeling unwell at his workplace, contacted the emergency medical service of the Central Customs Hospital. The ambulance team that arrived at the scene recorded severe chest pain, low blood pressure, and rapid heart rate.

Thanks to the prompt intervention of the Chief Physician of the Central Customs Hospital, Bakhtiyar Musayev, the Head of the Cardiology Department, interventional cardiologist Ilgar Tahiroglu, as well as anesthesiologists-resuscitators of the Operating Room, Intensive Care and Anesthesiology Department, Khayal Mammadov and Gunel Jafarova, the Head of the Emergency Department, emergency physician Fuzuli Abishov, and the hospital’s professional medical team, the patient was immediately provided with high-level medical care.

Upon admission to the Central Customs Hospital, Hikmet Alizade suffered cardiac arrest, and emergency resuscitation measures were immediately initiated. As a result of 20–30 minutes of intensive cardiopulmonary resuscitation and life-saving efforts, the patient’s vital signs were restored.

The patient was then urgently transferred to the angiography suite. Examinations revealed a severe blockage in the coronary arteries. An emergency interventional procedure performed by Ilgar Tahiroglu was successfully completed, and blood flow in the heart vessels was restored.

Currently, Hikmet Alizade’s condition is stable, treatment is continuing successfully, and he is expected to be discharged home today.
