TuranBank, which includes environmental protection and ecological well-being among its corporate activity priorities, has joined the next large-scale tree planting campaign held in the Mushfigabad settlement.
As part of the campaign, 625 Eldar pine and olive trees were planted by the participants on 1 hectare of land. It should be noted that in order to enrich the forest fund and expand green areas in the country, it is planned to plant 37,500 trees of various types suitable for the local climate and build a modern irrigation infrastructure on a 60-hectare area located in the Mushfigabad settlement of the Absheron region.
This initiative is being implemented within the framework of the “Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Tree Planting Activities on the Occasion of the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev” signed on March 13, 2023 between the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Central Bank, the Association of Azerbaijan Banks (ABA), the Association of Azerbaijan Insurers, the Azerbaijan Microfinance Association (AMFA), the Azerbaijan Capital Markets Association and the Azerbaijan Fintech Association (AzFina). The strategic goal of the memorandum is to contribute to the restoration of ecological balance by planting 100,000 trees annually for 10 years starting from 2023, for a total of 1,000,000 trees.
It should be noted that the campaign, which has been successfully ongoing for the fourth year, has been attended by representatives of the associations and about 250 representatives of member organizations.
This event is another manifestation of the Bank's high corporate social responsibility in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development. It should be noted that TuranBank will continue its efforts to protect and increase greenery in our country and, together with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, will actively participate in measures taken for the sake of the environment.
