On July 25, 2025, a comprehensive seminar on the topic “Occupational Health and Safety of Medical Workers” was held at the Central Customs Hospital, organized by the Scientific-Practical and Training Center of the Medical Service Department of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
At the event, infectious disease specialist of the Central Customs Hospital, Dr. Madina Abdullayeva, delivered a detailed presentation addressing various crucial aspects of occupational health and safety. In her speech, Dr. Abdullayeva provided comprehensive information about infectious risks, biological hazards, sterilization and disinfection procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment, all of which are vital in the daily activities of healthcare workers.
Dr. Abdullayeva also discussed early diagnosis and prevention of occupational diseases, the implementation of international health protocols, and the application of local regulatory mechanisms and guidelines. She answered numerous questions from the audience and enriched the discussion with real clinical examples and her own professional experience.
The seminar was actively attended by physicians from various specialties, medical residents, and healthcare personnel of the Central Customs Hospital. The primary objective of the event was to raise awareness among medical professionals about the risks they may encounter during their professional activities, promote protection against infectious and non-infectious threats, ensure a safe working environment, and highlight the importance of occupational disease prevention.
