On June 4, 2025 a practical training session on initial fire safety rules and patient evacuation during emergency situations was conducted for the administrative and medical staff at the Central Customs Hospital.
The event was attended by the Deputy Head of the Medical Service Department of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ismayil Afandiyev, Deputy Director of the Central Customs Hospital Nabil Seyidov, staff from various departments of the hospital, nurses, male nurses, medical residents, and technical personnel.
In the opening speech, the Deputy Head of the Medical Service Department Ismayil Afandiyevemphasized that ensuring fire safety in healthcare facilities is crucial not only to prevent material damage but also for the protection of patients' health and lives.
Dr. Ismayil Afandiyev highlighted the importance of such training sessions in increasing employees’ preparedness for emergencies, ensuring the safe and coordinated evacuation of patients with limited mobility, improving skills in using primary fire extinguishing equipment correctly, and strengthening the overall culture of safety.
The Deputy Director of the Central Customs Hospital, Nabil Seyidov spoke about the critical importance of every staff member being able to make quick decisions, demonstrate proper behavior models, and work effectively in teams during fires or other emergencies. He also noted that these trainings enhance the psychological preparedness of medical personnel to deal with crisis situations.
In the practical part of the training, Rizvan Gasimov, the person in charge of fire protection at the Central Customs Hospital, provided detailed information about appropriate behavior during the initial stages of a fire, the use of fire extinguishing equipment and personal protective gear, and the evacuation process of patients during emergencies. He visually demonstrated the sequence of actions and safety procedures required to ensure effective initial fire safety management.
At the end of the event, participants’ questions were answered, discussions were held on the topic, and opinions were exchanged through practical examples.
