At the Pediatric Surgery Department of the Central Customs Hospital, a wide range of surgical interventions are performed for children aged 0 to 18 in accordance with modern medical protocols. Advanced endoscopic and radiological diagnostic methods are extensively used within the department. These include endoscopy, gastroscopy, esophagoscopy, bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, as well as cystography and radiographic imaging of the intestines and esophagus.
Head of the department, specialist pediatric surgeon Dr. Vusal Jafarov — a member of the European Paediatric Surgeons' Association — along with pediatric surgeon Dr. Toghrul Piriyev, successfully treat rare and complex congenital anomalies such as esophageal atresia, urethral stricture, cloacal malformation, intestinal atresia, omphalocele, and bladder exstrophy using both open and laparoscopic surgical techniques.
